Noir By SIT

Freshthanamug Artist SIT has been part of the Amsterdam creative scene for many years. Doing action painting, graphic design, advertising and more until he got fed up. He went back to square one to find his true essence. With ‘Noir’ Sit returns to his bold black & whites, examining the troubled relation between the animal kingdom and mankind even closer. The result is a haunting series that is simultaneously sexy and morbid. The sensual textures of fur and feathers are juxtaposed with pale animal skulls and soft female curves to illustrate the malicious blackness gnawing away at the edges of our sense of beauty.

Ferrari 340 Competizione

Taking a classic car and making it look modern is one thing, but it’s definitely something else to make a new car to look like a classic. This concept’s been pulled off with the Ferrari 340 Competizione, that’s been built to pay homage to the 1952 Ferrari 340 Mexico. Having been limited to only three examples, the Competizione is a one-off that started as a Ferrari 456 GT and kept its 470hp, 5.4L V12 and six-speed manual. Added features along development included new aerodynamics, suspension, brakes, an interior and aluminum bodywork, with modern detailing that’s reminiscent of the 340 Mexico. Sorry, only one photo but when something's this Freshthanamug one is all you need!!!

Nakahouse by XTEN Architecture

Nakahouse is an abstract remodel of a 1960′s hillside home located on a West facing ridge in the Hollywood Hills, just below the Hollywood sign. To the South and West are views of the Beechwood Canyon; to the East is a protected natural ravine, with a view of Griffith Park Observatory in the distance.Speaking of the Conservatory, we're sure the telescopes are trained on Nakahouse as it has to be as Freshthanamug as anything the heavens have to offer… Simply stunning!!!

Alexa Meade's Amazing REAL Life Paintings

Alexa Meade is an installation artist based in the Washington, DC area who thinks completely backwards. Most artists use acrylic paints to create portraits of people on canvas, Ms. Meade applies acrylic paints on her subjects and makes them appear to be a part of the painting! Her innovative use of paint on the three dimensional surfaces of found objects, live models, and architectural spaces has been incorporated into a series of installations that create a perceptual shift in how we experience and interpret spatial relationships. Her work is some of THE most creative we've seen and most officially Freshthanamug!!! Enjoy!!! And close your mouth when you're done…

Sexy House by Chien Wang Yang

Taiwanese photographer Chien Wang Yang sure has a very unique idea about what fun around the house means. Sexy young ladies, in different parts of the house, playing around in a very pop and colorful world. Not your usual childhood memory, but Freshthanamug none the less right???

Highlights From Alexander McQueen Retrospective, "Savage Beauty" Pt. 1

From May 4 through August 7th, The Metropolitan Museum of Art featured an impressive exhibit of the innovative fashions of the late Alexander McQueen. The exhibition, organized by The Costume Institute, celebrated the talented and sorely missed Alexander McQueen’s extraordinary contributions to fashion. From his Central Saint Martins postgraduate collection of 1992 to his final runway presentation, which took place after his death in February 2010, Mr. McQueen challenged and expanded the understanding of fashion beyond utility to a conceptual expression of culture, politics, and identity. We were fortunate enough to make it to this Freshthanamug designer's exhibit in early May and were blown away not only by his extraordinary creations but by the way the exhibit was put together from the dark almost haunted house like rooms, to the music and the atmospheric sounds throughout. Here are just a few of the more unusual and striking pieces in the exhibit and you can find more on the website. Enjoy!!!

Armani Hotel in Dubai

Situated in the highest tower of the world Burj Khalifa, the Armani Hotel Dubai is one of the most luxurious hotels ever. The hotel is located on eleven floors of Burj Khalifa tower. Exquisite guests have an access to a number of restaurants, spas, saloons or a night club. The entire interior has been designed by Giorgo Armani himself. As for the architecture, Wilson Associates were assigned to create this unique design. Of course all used materials are luxurious: wood, cloth, stone etc. Now anything attached to the Armani name has to be Freshthanamug… As for the staying price, not so much, to spend a night in this exquisite hotel would cost you 2400 dollars per night!!!
